the role of television sport programs in transmitting moral values and modeling of high school students of islamabad gharb city

the aim of this study was to compare the time spent watching television, the expected moral values ​​transmitted via television, the features of life and sport patterns and the moral properties of selected patterns between high school male and female students. in this survey, population consisted of high school male and female students in islamabad gharb city in 2012. the sample was 382 subjects according to morgan sample size table whom were selected through random and cluster sampling method. a researcher-made questionnaire was used which was designed based on theoretical principles. the validity of the questionnaire was approved by university professors and the reliability was calculate by cronbach's alpha coefficient (α=0.88). the results showed a difference between female and male students in time spent watching sports on television, expected moral ​​(religious) values, moral values ​​(political, cultural, and social) transmitted via television and also moral features of sport patterns.
